Cotswold Inspired Wedding at the Stroud Brewery

As a wedding Photographer I see weddings of all shapes, sizes, colours and themes. Emily and Greg had a fabulous Cotswold themed wedding day and I’d like to share their ideas to help inspire you if you are hoping to have a laid back country themed day. Here are my top 7 tips for a Cotswold Themed Wedding.

1.      Choose a venue that fits the theme. The Cotswolds is known for its beautiful countryside and rustic charm. Look for venues that have outdoor spaces, such as gardens or fields, where you can hold your ceremony or reception. Or try something unique like a Brewery!

2.     Use natural materials for decor. Incorporate natural materials such as wood, stone, and greenery into your decor. You can use wooden signs to direct guests around the venue, or use stone vases for your floral arrangements.

3. Use flowers to add colour. Flowers are a great way to add colour to your wedding decor. Choose flowers that are in season and that complement your colour scheme. You can use them in your centrepieces, bouquets, and boutonnieres

4.      Choose rustic table settings. Use wooden tables and chairs for your reception, and add burlap table runners or placemats for a rustic touch. You can also use mason jars as drinking glasses or candle holders

5.      Serve local food and drink. The Cotswolds is known for its local produce, so why not incorporate it into your wedding menu? You can serve local cheeses, meats, and vegetables, and offer local beers or ciders as drinks

6.      Add some entertainment. Consider adding some entertainment to your wedding day that fits the theme. You could have a live band playing folk music for some traditional dancing.

7.      Capture the day with natural photography. To capture the day in the most natural way possible, it’s important to make sure everyone is comfortable in front of the camera. Encourage everyone to relax and be themselves so that your photographer can capture those candid moments that make your day unique.
