Tips on using Confetti on your Big Day
Confetti at weddings is a great way to add a touch of fun and celebration to your special day. It’s a moment that you won’t find happening anywhere else and is so full of happiness, joy and celebration as you emerge for the first time as the new Mr and Mrs.
Here are some tips I have learned over the years on how to use confetti at weddings and how it can create some truly genuine pictures.
Firstly check with your venue if they allow confetti. Some venues may only allow biodegradable confetti some don’t allow any but don’t worry there are alternatives such as sparklers and ribbons.
Think about the type of confetti you want to use. Natural petal confetti is a great idea as it looks pretty and floats well.
Make sure guests have enough confetti in their hands and create a tunnel for you to walk through.
Encourage guests to throw the confetti up in the air over the couple rather than directly at your faces.
Look at or past the photographer. You won’t see where the confetti is coming from so it makes for some truly genuine expressions!
Movement is important. I advise couples that it is best to try and do confetti when you are entering or exiting an area. Such as after the ceremony or before the reception. It helps keep the flow of the day and prevents it feeling staged.
Finally relax its our job to capture the shot and those moments you will cherish forever, if you have any concerns or specific shots you have seen and would like to capture get in touch with your photographer and let them know.
